My wrestling journey began in an unlikely place. I was born in Bahrain and raised in Abu Dhabi, where my father, a 1992 Olympian for Great Britain, helped establish one of the region's first youth wrestling clubs. Wrestling wasn't as established there as it was in North America, so from an early age I learned that improving often meant looking beyond what was familiar. As I became more serious about the sport, my family and I sought out stronger competition, better training environments, and opportunities to continue developing.
That mindset carried with me when we moved to Canada and throughout my wrestling career. I competed at Wyoming Seminary before continuing my career at the University of North Carolina and the University of Michigan, earning four NCAA All-American honors while representing Canada internationally. Along the way, I've had the opportunity to train alongside Olympic and World medalists, work with exceptional coaches, and compete against some of the best wrestlers in the world. Every step reinforced a simple belief: there is always something new to learn and another way to improve.
Today, I'm still pursuing that goal as I train to represent Canada on the World and Olympic stage. Through McNeil Wrestling, I want to share the knowledge, techniques, and lessons I've gained throughout my career while helping athletes develop the same commitment to continuous improvement that has shaped my own journey.
My wrestling journey has taken me from local tournaments in Canada to competing on some of the biggest stages in collegiate and international wrestling. Along the way, I've earned four NCAA All-American honors, competed for both the University of North Carolina and the University of Michigan, and proudly represented Canada on the international stage.
I continue training to represent Canada at the highest level and compete for world championships and Olympic medals. Remaining an active international competitor allows me to continually refine my skills, learn from world-class coaches and training partners, and bring the latest techniques and insights directly into every lesson I teach.
I still consider myself a student of wrestling. Every practice, competition, and conversation with coaches and training partners is an opportunity to learn something new. I believe my responsibility isn't just to teach techniques but to help athletes understand why they work, develop confidence in their own style, and build a foundation for lifelong improvement.
Whether you're just getting started or preparing for high-level competition, I'd love the opportunity to help you reach your goals. Explore my coaching options and find the training that's right for you.
